[공윤우의 건강 칼럼] How to keep balance during the pandemic time

I was an active teenager. I used to spend my time playing with friends and doing my hobbies. Before Covid-19, I usually went out with my friends somewhere exciting or enjoyed scuba diving and horse-riding every weekend. All in all, I have lived a very regular and healthy life. My schedule was on set, I was a healthy teenager who could manage his own schedule well and his daily life also. If I summarize my life before the pandemic in one word, I could say it was “stable”. Up to this point, I lived a very satisfying life.

 

However, when the Covid-19 spread to our country (and all over the world), my stable life changed slowly into an unstable one. My schedule was messed up, and I slept late and woke up early. I couldn’t enjoy my hobbies or other extra outdoor activities anymore. Also, I gained lots of weight as my amount of activities decreased. As you can guess from all of these negative situations, the beginning of my life in the pandemic times was literally an abyss.

 

However, as Dostoevsky said, humans are animals of adaption. I naturally tried to combine my original lifestyle with the new life that the pandemic brought.

 

 

For now, I made my own pattern in these confusing times.

I set a few rules to keep my routine. Firstly, I decide which one is more important based on the deadline of the work and the difficulty of the work. If we keep this in mind, it will be okay even though we have less time to finish all of our work. And rule number two is to utilize our scrap time as effectively as we can. Then we can have more time than expected. And I recommend you to make a habit which is to use the early time(4:00~7:00AM). Because it helps you to study in a relaxed mood also it gives a pretty huge amount of extra time. So, I don’t have to do an impractical plan till late at night. By following these rules and some habits, I could set my own healthy pattern during the pandemic times. I hope you can refer to this and find your own!
